The original pack of 54 cycling jerseys (gouache and pencil on handmade paper) was made for a group show ‘Artworks Objects & Curiosities’ at British fashion designer Paul Smith’s flagship store on Albemarle Street in November 2019. All the jerseys depicted are favourites among his ever-growing collection of vintage jerseys and other cycling memorabilia. The work references Paul's love of bikes and cycling and references his early days as a professional cyclist before tailoring took centre stage. The bold, bright colours and sense of fun perfectly sums up Paul's playful character. This homage recognises him as a national treasure and a titan in the global fashion industry.
